What it does

This bed uses warmed, gently flowing air through fine ceramic beads to almost float the patient. It dramatically reduces pressure on the skin and is used for advanced (Stage III & IV) pressure wounds.

Watch a short how-to video

A short instructional video for this device will appear here. In the meantime, follow the written steps below — and call us anytime if you need a walkthrough.

How to operate it

  1. 1

MMI will deliver and set up the bed for you — no assembly needed.

  2. 2

Plug into the dedicated outlet your installer showed you.

  3. 3

Press the green power button. The bed takes 15–20 minutes to warm up and 'fluidize.'

  4. 4

When the ready light is on, your loved one can be transferred onto the bed.

  5. 5

Use only the lightweight cover sheet provided — heavy bedding blocks the airflow.

Daily care & comfort tips

  • Keep the bed plugged in and powered on at all times unless told otherwise.
  • Do not place plastic, rubber, or heavy padding between the patient and the bed surface.
  • Reposition as your care team directs — usually less often than on a standard bed.
  • Keep pets and small objects away from the bed surface.

Call MMI right away if…

  • Any alarm sounds or warning light comes on
  • The bed feels cold, hard, or stops fluidizing
  • There's an unusual smell or sound from the unit
