Electrical Stimulation

Gentle electrical pulses that encourage chronic wounds to start healing again.

Call MMI

What it does

This therapy delivers very mild electrical pulses to the area around a chronic wound, which helps stimulate blood flow and tissue growth. Medicare typically covers this when a wound has not healed after 30 days of standard treatment.

How to operate it

  1. 1

Your nurse or therapist will place the pads near (not on) the wound.

  2. 2

Turn the unit on using the labeled power button.

  3. 3

Set the timer as your care team prescribed — usually 30–60 minutes.

  4. 4

You may feel a slight tingle. It should never be painful.

  5. 5

When the timer ends, turn the unit off and remove the pads gently.
